Regularity of the Large-scale Structure of the Universe
Recent analysis of the distribution of clusters of galaxies is reviewed. Clusters of galaxies located in rich superclusters form a quasiregular lattice. The power spectrum of clusters of galaxies has a sharp peak at wavelength λ0 = 120 h Mpc corresponding to the lattice step. The peak in the spectrum may be due to processes during the inflationary stage of the structure evolution.
متن کاملA Measurement of the Primordial Power Spectrum from Maxima and Boomerang Data
Model-independent measurements of the primordial power spectrum of matter density fluctuations provide a unique probe of physics in the very early universe, and can provide powerful constraints on inflationary models. We parametrize the primordial power spectrum A2s(k) as an arbitrary function, and measure its binned amplitude from the cosmic microwave background radiation anisotropy (CMB) data...
متن کاملOn the Measurement of the Hubble Constant in a Local Low-density Universe
Astrophysical observations indicate that the \Local Universe" has a relatively lower matter density ( 0) than the predictions of the standard in ation cosmology and the large-scale motions of galaxies which provide a mean mass density to be very close to unity. In such a local underdense region the Hubble expansion may not be representative of the global behaviour. Utilizing an underdense spher...
متن کاملModel Independent Primordial Power Spectrum from Maxima, Boomerang, and DASI Data
A model-independent determination of the primordial power spectrum of matter density fluctuations could uniquely probe physics of the very early universe, and provide powerful constraints on inflationary models. We parametrize the primordial power spectrum As(k) as an arbitrary function, and deduce its binned amplitude from the cosmic microwave background radiation anisotropy (CMB) measurements...
متن کاملThe Universe on Very Large Scales: A View from the Las Campanas Redshift Survey
The Las Campanas Redshift Survey (LCRS) is among the first galaxy redshift surveys to sample a reasonably fair volume of the local Universe. On the largest scales (≫ 100 h Mpc), the galaxy distribution appears smooth; on relatively small scales ( < ∼ 10 h Mpc), the LCRS tends to confirm the clustering characteristics observed in previous, shallower surveys. Here, however, we concern ourselves p...
